FP III Motogp Jerman - Pedrosa Jatuh, Marquez Tercepat

AFP/Robert Michael

Bradl: Contract details to come very soon

Wednesday, 10 July 2013
Stefan Bradl has revealed that he will soon be able to disclose further information regarding his contract situation for the 2014 MotoGP™ season.

Over recent weeks, talk in the paddock has pointed towards Bradl riding a ‘factory-supported Honda’ next season. At present, the German - who qualified on the front row at Assen - is unable to clarify his situation in full.

"We have a pre-contract which we signed last year, at the last race in Valencia," Bradl explains. "This will come very soon. We will sit down together in the next couple of weeks, but I don’t think it looks so bad for me. Also, when looking at our data, HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) knew we were struggling at the beginning of the season and now over the last races we have not done badly. They know exactly what is going on and I think they are quite happy with the progress we have made."

Having suffered three falls across the first four races of the season, Bradl admits that at times it is possible to be distracted by one’s impending future.

"This is always in the back of your mind because you also want to show HRC and all of the sponsors that you can do better than you are actually doing," continues the Moto2™ World Champion of 2011. "When you struggle at the beginning of the season, it is not easy to come back and solve the problem, but it doesn’t really make any difference in my life – especially after we sat down with Lucio (Cecchinello, CEO of LCR Honda MotoGP) and all of my team.

"There is no reason why we should be going crazy now. We just try to go step-by-step, back to our normal speed, and then try to put our speed into a whole race distance."

Over the opening seven races of 2013, 23-year-old Bradl has registered three top five finishes and his first ever front row start in The Netherlands, as well as two retirements in Qatar and Spain.

Rossi-Crutchlow dongkrak penjualan tiket MotoGP Inggris

sementara Scott tengah memimpin klasemen pebalap Moto2," lanjutnya.

tutup juara World Supersport 2009 ini. (cn/kny)

Silverstone ticket sales spike after Assen

Monday, 8 July 2013
Following the highly dramatic Dutch TT in which Valentino Rossi returned to winning ways and England’s Cal Crutchlow finished on the podium from a pole position start, ticket sales have rocketed ahead of the Hertz British Grand Prix.

The unquestionable lure of Valentino Rossi was evident at Silverstone last week, after the seven-time MotoGP™ World Champion’s victory in Assen resulted in a significant spike in ticket sales for next month’s Hertz British Grand Prix.

With just a handful of points separating the top riders, 2013 has been one of the most open MotoGP™ seasons in recent years. Richard Phillips, Managing Director of Silverstone Circuits Limited, believes this, combined with Rossi’s return to form and British rider Cal Crutchlow’s continued success, to be the reason behind the increased interest ahead of Britain’s flagship motorcycle racing event.

Phillips commented: "Ticket sales for the MotoGP™ British Grand Prix are going very well this year, which is down to a number of factors. It’s been a fantastic start to the season, with multiple winners, including Rossi back on a Yamaha, rookie sensation Marc Marquez becoming the youngest ever rider to win in MotoGP™ and Lorenzo and Pedrosa swapping places at the top of the championship. Cal has also had a sensational year, securing three podiums and becoming the first British rider to claim a pole position in over a decade.

"Bradley Smith is also going really well in his debut MotoGP™ season, while in Scott Redding we have a Brit leading the Moto2™ World Championship. All of this, combined with the great experience fans had at Silverstone last year, has seen a real uplift in demand for tickets. As most of our reserved seating areas are now sold out we’ve had to release more reserved seating in Becketts, and our ‘Family’ tickets have also been extremely popular again this year."

Crutchlow was last at Silverstone only two weekends ago to visit the F1 race.

"The British Grand Prix was my first experience of F1 and I was blown away; I loved it," said Crutchlow. "It’s very impressive. There’s a real buzz around the Paddock and on the grid. It was good to meet Lewis (Hamilton) again – Mercedes garage. I’d love to have a go at driving an F1 car in the future, but I’m not sure they trust us MotoGP™ riders; they think we’re a bit mad."

Speaking about Assen and looking ahead to his home race, Crutchlow added: "It was great to get pole at Assen last weekend; it shows what we are capable of. I honestly think I had a great opportunity to win the race, but it wasn’t meant to be and I’m happy to have finished on the podium for the third time in the last four races. I was pleased for Rossi though; he’s a true legend and it’s good to see him back on the top step – as long as he doesn’t beat me too often. The team is constantly improving, so who knows by the time we get to Silverstone. It’s not that far away now and I’d love to win my home race."

Tickets for the Hertz British Grand Prix, which will be staged between Friday 30 August and Sunday 1 September, can be purchased on motogp.com.

Sachsenring: A happy Pedrosa hunting ground

Monday, 8 July 2013
If the last three German Grands Prix are anything to judge by, Dani Pedrosa should head to the Sachsenring with much confidence. However, as the 2008 race told the Spaniard, nothing is ever certain in motorcycle racing…

Many would be over the moon to finish fourth in a MotoGP™ race but, knowing major rival Jorge Lorenzo was injured and starting 12th, Pedrosa naturally felt disappointed to have gained only a further two points over his Yamaha Factory Racing opponent. In fact, fourth for the Repsol Honda Team rider marked his equal worst result of 2013 to date and ended a run of five consecutive podium finishes – the longest string of top three results for anybody so far this year.

Now heading to Germany, Pedrosa can be comforted by the fact that he triumphed at the Sachsenring in 2010, 2011 and 2012, bringing his total of victories at the track up to six following two earlier successes in the intermediate class as well as the first MotoGP™ win of 2007. A year later, he would infamously lose control while dominating and violently bounce across the gravel trap.

As for Lorenzo, the task will be a continuation of damage limitation. Just how badly will the World Champion be affected by the broken left collarbone he sustained on the opening day at Assen? One could say we are now presented with a role reversal, with Pedrosa having so frequently been the wounded man in past years, whereas 80-time premier class victor Valentino Rossi will be looking to have the upper hand over his teammate once again.

Marc Marquez rather quietly moved back towards the top of the championship two weekends ago and is now once again within one victory of the lead, while Monster Yamaha Tech 3’s Cal Crutchlow is under threat of losing his fourth place in as Rossi is just two points behind. Ironically, Rossi’s victory at Assen came in the 46th MotoGP™ race to have taken place since his last win at Sepang in 2010, while he has now scored a career total of 4,646 points. A pair of coincidences indeed.

As for the Sachsenring, this will be the 16th time MotoGP™ has graced its tight turns and contour changes. Racing has taken place in the surrounding area and around the town of Chemnitz since as far back as the 1920s, with the purpose-built circuit having now been present on the calendar since 1998. Before that it was the Nurburgring, itself following Hockenheim which had hosted the inaugural German GP in 1991. Honda has won six of the last ten races in Germany, thanks mostly to Pedrosa.

The grid maintains its line-up for the upcoming event. Ivan Silva continues to substitute for the injured Hiroshi Aoyama at Avintia Blusens, whereas Michele Pirro will again cover for Ben Spies at Ignite Pramac Racing, then handing over to San Marino’s Alex de Angelis for Laguna Seca as Pirro will be testing for Ducati Team at Misano. At LCR Honda MotoGP, Stefan Bradl heads into his home race off the back of last week’s two-day test in Argentina. For the record, no German has ever won a MotoGP™ race in his home country – a Bradl podium would surely be welcomed…

Sunday’s eni Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland begins at 2pm local time (GMT +2), whereas practice will commence on Friday morning. All sessions can be followed live and in full on motogp.com.

Crutchlow: Sirkuit Argentina Impresif!

BUENOS AIRES – Cal Crutchlow memuji sirkuit Termas de Rio Hondo, Argentina.

Tech 3: Mustahil Crutchlow Tak Tergoda Ducati

Tech 3 sendiri takkan berpangku tangan melihat Ducati begitu saja membajaknya.

Argentina test completed after Friday morning rain

Friday, 5 July 2013
MotoGP™’s visit to the newly built Termas de Rio Hondo circuit in Argentina saw the second day of testing affected by rain, due to a Friday morning downpour at the South American venue.

Following Thursday’s announcement that the track will join the World Championship calendar from next season, the riders and teams decided not to risk potential mishaps on Friday morning after an early shower.

The six riders participating lapped somewhat cautiously in mixed conditions later on day two, with the Friday afternoon session extended by 30 minutes to make the most of some late sunshine.

Cal Crutchlow, Alvaro Bautista and Stefan Bradl were amongst the MotoGP™ contingent who made the trip to South America to check out the new facility, visiting Buenos Aires and the smaller city of Termas de Rio Hondo earlier in the week - before getting down to the real business of putting in some laps of the 4.8km track on their prototype machines.

Crutchlow put his Monster Yamaha Tech 3 YZR-M1 through its paces, gathering crucial data for both Yamaha and Bridgestone. GO&FUN Honda Gresini rider Bautista also worked on set up and understanding the nature of the track, topping the timesheet on Friday afternoon with a 1’45.578 lap.

LCR Honda MotoGP’s Bradl ended the test as the fastest rider with a time of 1’44.188 from Thursday - and only put in 13 extra laps on Friday.

Avintia Blusens’ Hector Barbera, meanwhile, collected important data for Magneti Marelli electronics on his FTR Kawasaki. Tuenti HP 40’s Tito Rabat and Mapfre Aspar Team’s Nico Terol were also in attendance as they tried out their Moto2 bikes and Dunlop tyres around the new layout.

Thursday also saw the official announcement that Termas de Rio Hondo will join the MotoGP calendar until 2016, from next year, meaning a return to racing in Argentina for the first time since 1999.

With Friday morning’s poor weather conditions at the track meaning that further testing was limited, the riders added some additional laps in the afternoon session before signing autographs for the fans and heading off to return to Europe for round 8 next weekend in Germany.

Pihak Suzuki tak menyangkalnya, meski mereka masih membuka lebar peluang masuknya pebalap lain.

Ducati Team concludes test at Misano

Thursday, 4 July 2013

The Ducati Team today completed a busy three-day test at Misano. Andrea Dovizioso and Nicky Hayden rode on Wednesday and Thursday, whereas Michele Pirro—fresh from his recent substitute rider appearances with Pramac Racing—returned to his role as Ducati Test Team rider, beginning his work on Tuesday and continuing through to today.

Apart from a brief morning rain shower today, the test was marked by good weather, enabling the riders to focus their work, which consisted mainly of carrying out frame comparisons. They also tried some engine developments and looked for a base setup for the Grand Prix of San Marino and the Rimini Riviera, which will take place at this track in September.

Andrea Dovizioso - Ducati Team (105 laps)
“The Misano track is a bit inconsistent for our bike, but coming from Assen, we immediately felt a bit better at this circuit. We worked on the current bike, finding a setup for the Misano race, and then we went ahead with the development of the laboratory bike, trying some new stuff and finding some interesting things. We were able to do nearly two full days of good work, and today we tried a change with the frame. There were some positives, like an improvement with the feeling on corner entry. We must decide what to do; it’s a new part, so we have to understand whether or not we can have it in time for the Sachsenring.”

Nicky Hayden - Ducati Team (158 laps)
“It’s certainly been a useful couple of days. We didn’t make any drastic improvements, but I tried something with a different anti-wheelie solution that worked quite well, and I’m happy about that for the next two tracks, which are maybe the worst two circuits for wheelies on the whole calendar. We lost a bit of time today with the rain, but in the end I did a low 1:34. That’s not a bad lap time, although we’ll certainly have to do better than that when we come here for the race. We did a lot of laps, mainly with the wheelie control and a different fork setting, and we got some good information.”

Crutchlow impressed with new track in Argentina

Thursday, 4 July 2013

Monster Yamaha Tech 3 Team rider Cal Crutchlow took centre stage in a historic moment for South American motorsport today when he became one of the first to ride a prototype MotoGP™ machine on the impressive new Autodromo Termas de Rio Hondo track in Argentina.

Crutchlow completed 29-laps in the pre-lunch session on the first of a two-day test on the super-fast 4.8km track, which is part of a special promotional tour in anticipation of the Autodromo Termas de Rio Hondo track featuring on the 2014 MotoGP World Championship schedule.

Booming interest in MotoGP in Argentina was evident again today after fans, media and officials gave Crutchlow a warm and enthusiastic reception on his arrival into Buenos Aires on Tuesday.

A large and passionate crowd gathered to witness Crutchlow put his Monster Yamaha Tech 3 Team YZR-M1 through its paces on the new circuit, which features 14 fast and technical corners.

As well as giving Argentinian fans a small taste of the high-speed and adrenaline-fuelled action they can expect next year, Crutchlow is on a vitally important data-gathering mission for Yamaha and Bridgestone.

The former World Supersport champion is scheduled to test a wide selection of tyres for Bridgestone, his comprehensive feedback giving the Japanese tyre firm precious information that will be used to help develop the tyre allocation for next year’s race.

Next year’s race will be the first time the sports-mad South American nation has played host to MotoGP since 1999.

Cal Crutchlow
“We have had an absolutely fantastic welcome in Argentina and after seeing the enthusiasm for MotoGP I’m really happy to be finally out on track to demonstrate what a spectacle the fans will see next year. The new track is very impressive and it is a really a good facility that Argentina can be very proud of. The track is still very dirty, so we are just enjoying riding around and learning as much as possible while also feeling the emotion of being one of the first ever to ride a prototype MotoGP bike here. It's incredible how many spectators came to welcome us and see us riding. Hopefully we can put on a good show next year and have a fantastic race because it certainly looks like it will take place in front of a huge crowd. The track has a good mix of long and fast corners and some are tight, so it is very important to get into a good rhythm. I really like Turn 6, which is a long and downhill corner. That is really cool to ride and I think the whole of the MotoGP grid is going to come here and love the track.”

Argentina to host MotoGP™ until 2016 from next year

Thursday, 4 July 2013

Dorna Sports is pleased to announce that MotoGP™ is officially returning to Argentina from next season to the newly built Termas de Rio Hondo circuit, which is currently hosting a preliminary MotoGP™ and Moto2™ test.

National Tourism Minister Enrique Meyer was present alongside Dorna Managing Director Events Area, Javier Alonso, to finalize the contract, which will see the premier class of motorcycle racing return to Argentina for the first time since 1999 on a three-year deal.

Meyer commented: “It is a great honour to receive this championship in Argentina in addition to other sporting events that take place in our country such as the Dakar Rally. We hope that the Argentine public can enjoy the top class of motorcycle racing, which hasn’t come to our country since 1999, and we will do our best to make sure MotoGP stays in our country for a long time.”

During his visit to the track today, Meyer was accompanied by the Governor of the Province of Santiago del Estero, Gerardo Zamora, and the Executive Secretary of the National Institute of Tourism, Leonardo Boto. Together they toured the circuit facilities and greeted the riders of both categories.

Meyer added: “We are getting very good reviews from the riders in relation to the circuit, due to the high speed corners in which competitors test their abilities. We are excited to host this event [the test], which serves as preparation for the Grand Prix in 2014.”

"Seeing all the motorcycle enthusiasts that have come to witness the MotoGP and Moto2 test is the most concrete proof that sporting events and tourism are two tools that go together and should be exploited for the better to maximize the benefits for each of the provinces of Argentina.”
